My Grandmother Lina used to pick blackberries every summer, enough to make an upside down cake every Sunday of the year….

 Now that she is 101 years old and sitting in her chair most of the day, I am sure she dreams of the sweetest dark berries….

A simple, yet perfect blackberry jam to celebrate late summer and my Grandmother Lina.

I have been spending a lot of time in the kitchen and less time at markets…

But you can still find me at least twice a week sampling luscious jams and bold marmalades….

 Cherry and Orange Marmalade, Blueberry, fresh Mint and Lemon Balm, Apple Honey Butter, Raspberry and Red Current Jam, Blackberry Jam…….

Sunday August 10th – Ladner Village Market 10-4 pm

Wednesday August 13th – Main Street Market 3-7 pm

Saturday August 16th – Kerrisdale Market 10-2 pm

Sunday August 17th – Whistler 10-4 pm
